Dayara Bugyal presents a larger than life panorama of Himalayan winter. Explore the widest expanse of snow with enchanting views of mesmerising peaks. From Dayara, you can see the Greater Himalayan range in all its beauty. The majestic summits of the Gangotri range, including Bandarpunch, Kala Nag, Srikanth, Jaonli, and Draupadi Ka Danda, are so close that you can almost touch them. Trekkers spend hours just watching the sunset over these mountains. An ideal trek for beginners with good fitness level.
Detailed Itinerary
Travel time & distance: 1 hour, 44 Kms.
Arrive at Dehradun. Meet TEAM MOUNT ME at a pre-decided time and location. You will be transferred to Rishikesh via bus. Explore Rishikesh on your own. Overnight stay in a hotel at Rishikesh.

After breakfast, we proceed towards Raithal, the base camp for our trek. The drive takes you through through Mussoorie, one of the most popular hill stations of Uttarakhand.
Between Mussoorie and Uttarkashi, you come across a viewpoint, called the Tingling Point, from where you get astounding views of almost all of the Garhwal Himalayas, on a very clear day. Overnight stay at Raithal Village.
Meals: Food included in the package, once we reach Raithal Village.
Trek duration & distance: 5 hours, 5 km
At Raithal, you can see Mt. Srikanth and Gangotri 1, 2, and 3 in the distance along with the mountains mentioned above. These become more prominent as you gain altitude on the trail to Gui.
After breakfast, we begin our trekking journey. The trail from Raithal to Gui is a gradually ascending one. The initial trail goes out of the Raithal village quickly and takes you through the village fields. The trail is mesmerising especially during winters. Overnight camping at Gui.
Trek duration & distance: 3 hours, 2.5 km
After breakfast, we continue our trek towards Dayara. As you climb up from Gui; you start seeing mountains on the other side, which were earlier hidden from view. It is a short day with gradual ascends punctuated with flat sections. Along the treks, you can see 5-6 Chania huts, where Shepherds shelter their cattle in the summer. Overnight stay at Chilapada camp site.
Trek duration & distance: 6-7 hours, 9 km
Finally, it’s the summit day. Chilapada is pretty close to the start of Dayara Bugyal giving you almost the whole day to explore the most beautiful phase of this trek. During winter, you see miles and miles of powdery snow on the undulating terrain. The final climb is a bit steep, but it is totally worth as you end up witnessing the mesmerising views of the Dodital range.
The view from Dayara Bugyal is worth every effort put in to reach there. After spending a quality time at the top, we will descending all the way to Chilapada camp site.

Today, we trace our steps back to Raithal trail. Overnight stay at Raithal Village.
Travel time & distance: 7 hours, 208 km
Enjoy a scenic drive back to Rishikesh. Overnight stay in a hotel at Rishikesh.
We would suggest to keep a buffer day in your schedule, considering bad weather conditions in the mountain region. You can spend your day exploring various adventure sports at Rishikesh. The trekkers who wish to continue their journey back home can leave for Dehradun.
